Ingredients
- 1 melon(s) (watermelon (preferably an oval one))
- 2 olives
- 1 knife tip cream cheese
Instructions
- 1. Cut the melon into two halves. Make sure one half is slightly larger than the other.
- 2. Take the larger half and carefully scoop out the inside.
- 3. Cut the removed flesh into small, bite-sized pieces.
- 4. Set the melon pieces aside.
- 5. Place the hollowed-out melon half on a plate.
- 6. Cut a mouth about 10 centimeters long and 5 to 8 centimeters wide into the top. Adjust the size to fit the melon.
- 7. Cut off about 1 centimeter of the green rind around the edge of the mouth. This reveals the white layer.
- 8. Cut small, sharp teeth into this white area.
- 9. Cut two small holes for the eyes at the top of the melon.
- 10. Insert an olive into each hole to form the eyes.
- 11. Secure the olives with a toothpick if necessary.
- 12. Decorate each olive with a small dollop of cream cheese.
- 13. Cut a fin out of the remaining piece of melon rind.
- 14. Attach this fin to the back of the melon using a toothpick.
- 15. Fill the carved mouth with the prepared melon pieces.
- 16. Optionally, place a few gummy fish candies into the mouth.
- 17. When serving, place toothpicks or long skewers on the plate.
- 18. This allows your guests to easily pick up the melon pieces from the shark's mouth.
