  5. 5. Shape small meatballs from the mixture.
  6. 6. Add the remaining diced onion and the spices to the broth.
  7. 7. Heat the broth and season with salt if necessary.
  8. 8. Place the meatballs into the hot broth.
  9. 9. Let the meatballs simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
  10. 10. Remove the bay leaf, peppercorns, and allspice berries.
  11. 11. Carefully lift the finished meatballs out of the broth.
