Ingredients

- 125 g butter (or margarine, cold)
- 300 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 0.75 packet baking powder
- 6 medium-sized apples
- 5 tbsp water
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- butter (for the pan)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the apples.
- 2. Remove the cores.
- 3. Cut the flesh into small cubes.
- 4. Pour five tablespoons of water into a small saucepan.
- 5. Make sure the bottom of the pan is just lightly covered.
- 6. Add the apple pieces to the pot.
- 7. Cover the pot.
- 8. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 9. Let the mixture simmer for about two to four minutes.
- 10. Make sure the apple pieces remain visible.
- 11. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 12. Preheat the oven to 180 to 190 degrees.
- 13. Set the function to top and bottom heat.
- 14. Add all the ingredients for the dough to a mixing bowl.
- 15. Make sure the butter is cold.
- 16. Use the mixer with the dough hook.
- 17. Knead the ingredients for one to two minutes.
- 18. Make sure the dough becomes crumbly.
- 19. Grease a 26-centimeter springform pan.
- 20. Take four-fifths of the dough.
- 21. Press the dough into the pan.
- 22. Pull up a small edge of about two centimeters.
- 23. Add the apple compote to the pan.
- 24. Smooth the surface.
- 25. Sprinkle the vanilla sugar over it.
- 26. Take the remaining dough crumbs.
- 27. Distribute the dough crumbs on the cake.
- 28. Bake the cake for 20 to 30 minutes.
- 29. Let the cake cool in the pan.
- 30. Serve the cake with whipped cream.
- 31. Take a jar of cherries with their juice.
- 32. Put the cherries in a saucepan.
- 33. Take a packet of vanilla pudding.
- 34. Thicken the cherry mixture with the pudding.
- 35. Spread the cherry filling on the dough.
- 36. Sprinkle the remaining dough crumbs over it.
