🍽️ Creamy Chicken Fillets with Mozzarella and Basil

Ingredients
- 4 chicken breast fillet(s)
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp oil
- 250 g cocktail tomatoes
- 0.5 bunch basil
- 200 g cream
- 100 g cream cheese
- fat for the dish
- 125 g mozzarella
- to taste parmesan (optional)
- 1 tbsp herb butter (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken fillets under cold running water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Season the fillets generously with salt and pepper.
- 4. Heat some oil in a large frying pan.
- 5. Sear the fillets on all sides for about 5 minutes until browned.
- 6. Wash the tomatoes under running water.
- 7. Cut the tomatoes in half.
- 8. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 9. Wash the basil leaves as well.
- 10. Chop the basil leaves finely.
- 11. Bring the cream to a boil in a saucepan.
- 12. Stir in the processed cheese portion to the hot cream.
- 13. Continue stirring until the cheese has completely melted.
- 14. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 15. Fold two-thirds of the chopped basil leaves into the sauce.
- 16. Lightly grease a baking dish with oil or butter.
- 17. Place the seared meat into the prepared dish.
- 18. Arrange the tomato halves next to the meat.
- 19. Pour the basil cream sauce evenly over everything.
- 20. Cut the mozzarella into small cubes.
- 21. Distribute the mozzarella cubes over the meat.
- 22. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- 23. Set the oven to 200 degrees Celsius conventional heat.
- 24. Remove the dish from the oven after the baking time.
- 25. Sprinkle the chicken with the remaining fresh basil.
