  1. 1. Finely chop the onions and garlic.
  2. 2. Sauté the onion and garlic mixture in olive oil until soft and translucent.
  3. 3. Let the onion mixture cool down completely.
  4. 4. Mix the minced meat with the cooled onion mixture, the egg, and the spices.
  5. 5. Cut off the tops of four bell peppers.
  6. 6. Rinse the empty bell peppers briefly with water.
  7. 7. Lightly salt the inside of the bell peppers.
  8. 8. Fill the bell peppers with the minced meat mixture.
  9. 9. Place the cut tops back on the stuffed peppers.
  10. 10. Set aside the remaining minced meat mixture.
  11. 11. Finely chop the last onion and the last bell pepper.
  12. 12. Fry the remaining minced meat in olive oil until crumbly.
  13. 13. Add the chopped onion and pepper and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  14. 14. Stir in the tomato paste and simmer for another 1 minute.
  15. 15. Deglaze the mixture with vegetable broth.
  16. 16. Add the chopped tomatoes.
  17. 17. Place the four stuffed bell peppers in the pot.
  18. 18. Simmer them over low heat for about 1 hour.
  19. 19. Serve them with rice or potatoes.
