🍽️ Fluffy Onion Tart

Ingredients
- 450 g flour
- 220 ml water
- 50 g butter, soft
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 pinch(es) salt
- 1 pinch(es) sugar
- flour for the work surface
- 800 g onion(s)
- 200 g bacon
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 egg(s)
- 200 ml cream
- 250 g cheese
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Put flour, yeast, sugar, and salt into a large bowl.
- 2. Press a small indentation into the center of the dry ingredients.
- 3. Pour the cold water into this indentation.
- 4. Add the soft butter.
- 5. Knead the ingredients into a smooth dough.
- 6. Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes.
- 7. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
- 8. Roll out the dough on the surface.
- 9. Make sure the dough is large enough for your baking sheet.
- 10. Place the dough on the baking sheet.
- 11. Press the edges of the dough upward to form a crust.
- 12. Put the eggs and cream into a bowl.
- 13. Whisk the eggs and cream together using a hand blender until well combined.
- 14. Season the egg mixture with salt.
- 15. Add grated nutmeg.
- 16. Season with pepper.
- 17. Peel the onions.
- 18. Halve the onions.
- 19. Slice the onions into thin strips.
- 20. Cut the bacon into small cubes.
- 21. Heat butter and oil in a pan.
- 22. Fry the onions and bacon in the pan.
- 23. Fry until the ingredients have taken on some color.
- 24. Remove the pan from the heat.
- 25. Add the egg mixture to the onion-bacon mixture.
- 26. Stir everything well.
- 27. Taste the filling again.
- 28. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 29. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
- 30. Spread the cheese over the filling.
- 31. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat).
- 32. Bake the tart for about 30 minutes.
