🍝 Classic Spaghetti Bolognese

Ingredients
- 1 kg ground beef
- 250 g bacon (in small cubes)
- 1 jar tomato(es) (dried, drained and finely chopped)
- 1 large onion(s) (or 2 smaller ones, finely chopped)
- 3 clove(s) of garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 handful rosemary (leaves picked off and finely chopped)
- olive oil
- 2 jars red wine
- 3 small can(s) of tomato(es) (chopped)
- sea salt
- pepper (freshly ground)
- 4 large carrot(s) (in small pieces)
- 1 handful basil
- Worcestershire sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tsp, level oregano
- to taste tomato paste
- 1 kg spaghetti
Instructions
- 1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot.
- 2. Fry the bacon and rosemary until golden yellow.
- 3. Add the chopped onions and garlic.
- 4. Sauté the vegetables for three minutes while stirring.
- 5. Add the minced meat to the pot.
- 6. Fry the meat.
- 7. Deglaze everything with the wine.
- 8. Let the liquid reduce slightly.
- 9. Add the oregano, the grated carrots, and all the tomatoes.
- 10. Add some tomato paste to taste.
- 11. Season the sauce with the spices (except the basil).
- 12. Bring the sauce to a boil again.
- 13. Reduce the heat almost completely.
- 14. Place the lid on the pot.
- 15. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for one and a half to two hours.
- 16. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite) shortly before the sauce is ready.
- 17. Stir the freshly chopped basil into the finished sauce.
- 18. Serve the dish with freshly grated Parmesan.
- 19. Add a glass of red wine.
- 20. A fresh green salad goes perfectly with this.
