🍽️ Homemade Cut-out Cookies

Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 50 g almonds (ground)
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 180 g butter
- 4 drops flavoring (lemon or rum flavoring)
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 0.5 bottles rum flavoring
- 0.5 tbsp water (or, instead of rum flavoring and water)
- 3 tsp rum
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- 1. Knead all the dough ingredients into a smooth shortcrust dough (a crumbly, buttery dough).
- 2. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap.
- 3. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to let it firm up.
- 4. Take the dough out of the refrigerator.
- 5. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
- 6. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of approx. ½ centimeter.
- 7. Use cookie cutters to cut out your desired shapes from the dough.
- 8. Place the cut-out cookies on two baking sheets lined with baking paper.
- 9. Preheat the oven and bake the cookies at 180 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
- 10. Let the cookies cool down completely.
- 11. Mix rum or lemon juice into a thin glaze.
- 12. Brush the cooled cookies with the glaze.
