🍰 Vegan Apple Cake with Cinnamon Crumble

Ingredients
- 205 g Margarine
- 350 g Flour
- 8 tbsp Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla Sugar
- 1 pinch Baking Powder
- 60 ml Water
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 750 g Apples
- 2 tbsp Apple Sauce
- Fat and Flour for the Pan
Instructions
- 1. Cut 125 grams of margarine into small cubes.
- 2. Mix 200 grams of flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, vanilla sugar, and baking powder in a bowl.
- 3. Add the margarine cubes, 60 milliliters of water, and the flour mixture.
- 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap.
- 6. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- 7. Mix 150 grams of flour, 6 tablespoons of sugar, cinnamon, and 80 grams of margarine.
- 8. Work the mixture until small crumbs (crumble) form.
- 9. Also chill the crumbs for a while.
- 10. Quarter the apples.
- 11. Remove the core.
- 12. Peel the apples.
- 13. Slice the apples into thin pieces.
- 14. Take the dough out of the refrigerator.
- 15. Grease a tart pan (preferably with a removable bottom).
- 16. Dust the pan with flour.
- 17. Place the dough in the prepared pan.
- 18. Roll out the dough.
- 19. Press the dough about 5 centimeters up the side of the pan.
- 20. Prick the base several times with a fork.
- 21. Distribute the apple slices on the dough.
- 22. Heat apple sauce.
- 23. Brush the apples with the apple sauce.
- 24. Sprinkle the cinnamon crumbs evenly over the top.
- 25. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat).
- 26. Place the cake on the lower rack.
- 27. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes.
