  1. 1. Rinse the chard under running water and remove any stubborn dirt spots.
  2. 2. Dice the thick chard stems into small cubes.
  3. 3. Cut the chard leaves into thin strips.
  4. 4. Peel the onion, the garlic clove, and the piece of ginger.
  5. 5. Finely dice the onion.
  6. 6. Mince the garlic and the ginger finely.
  7. 7. Rinse the lentils in a sieve under running water.
  8. 8. Let the lentils drain well in the sieve.
  9. 9. Heat the butter in a large pan.
  10. 10. Sauté the diced onion, minced garlic, and ginger in it.
  11. 11. Cook the onions until they are soft and translucent.
  12. 12. Add sesame seeds, cumin, and turmeric to the pan.
  13. 13. Fry the spices briefly until they are fragrant.
  14. 14. Add the drained lentils to the pan.
  15. 15. Add the prepared chard.
  16. 16. Pour the coconut milk into the pan.
  17. 17. Add the broth to the pan.
  18. 18. Season the curry with salt.
  19. 19. Let the mixture simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes.
  20. 20. Taste the finished curry with salt before serving.
