Ingredients
- 280 g flour
- 250 g butter
- 100 g sugar (brown)
- 130 g sugar
- 2 egg(s)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 200 g chocolate (your choice, roughly chopped or nuts)
Instructions
- 1. This recipe yields about 20 cookies.
- 2. Beat the butter together with both types of sugar and the salt until creamy.
- 3. Add the eggs and vanilla sugar and stir until smooth.
- 4. Set aside a small spoonful of flour and mix it with the baking soda.
- 5. Now stir the remaining flour into the butter-sugar mixture spoonful by spoonful.
- 6. Finally, gently fold in the flour-baking soda mixture.
- 7. The dough will be quite firm and chewy.
- 8. Now mix in your desired ingredients like chocolate or nuts.
- 9. Spoon the dough in tablespoon sizes onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 10. Leave plenty of space between the portions because the cookies spread out a lot while baking.
- 11. Put a maximum of 8 cookies on one tray.
- 12. Bake the cookies with convection (fan) at 190 degrees Celsius for about 8 to 9 minutes.
- 13. Keep in mind that baking times can vary depending on your oven.
- 14. The cookies are perfect when the edges are very lightly browned and the center still looks moist.
- 15. Take the cookies out of the oven immediately.
- 16. Place them carefully on a plate or a kitchen towel to cool down, as they are very fragile.
- 17. Do not leave them on the hot baking sheet, as they will harden as they cool and remain tender inside.
- 18. If they become crispy, they were in the oven for too long.
- 19. Store the cooled cookies best in a jar in the refrigerator.
- 20. They keep for about 4 days.
- 21. Macadamia White Chocolate Cookies: Mix 200 grams of roughly chopped white chocolate and 150 grams of chopped macadamia nuts into the dough.
- 22. Rinse salted nuts well beforehand to remove the salt coating.
- 23. Double Chocolate Cookies: Stir 150 grams of chopped dark chocolate and one tablespoon of dark cocoa into the dough.
- 24. Chocolate Walnut Cookies: Mix 150 grams of roughly chopped dark chocolate and 100 grams of roughly chopped walnuts into the dough.
