  1. 1. Beat butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla sugar, and bitter almond extract vigorously until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. 2. Warm up the marzipan with three tablespoons of Amaretto liqueur and stir until smooth.
  3. 3. Add the marzipan mixture to the batter and mix well.
  4. 4. Add flour, cornstarch (a fine starch made from potatoes), and baking powder spoonful by spoonful.
  5. 5. Beat the egg whites until very stiff and gently fold them into the batter.
  6. 6. Set the oven to the lowest setting of the grill mode.
  7. 7. Line the bottom of a springform pan (a cake pan with a removable side) with baking paper and spread about three tablespoons of batter on it.
  8. 8. Bake the layer in the preheated oven on the lowest rack for about three minutes until golden brown.
  9. 9. Then spread another three tablespoons of batter on top and grill for another three minutes.
  10. 10. Continue this process until all the batter is used up.
  11. 11. Keep a close eye on the cake to ensure it does not become too dark.
  12. 12. Release the cooled cake from the sides of the pan and cover it with milk chocolate coating (melted milk chocolate).
