Instructions

  1. 1. Do not preheat the oven, as you will use a pan. Imagine you are in Africa: the dish must be spicy. This version is a simple adaptation for you.
  2. 2. Put orange juice (100 % fruit content), soy sauce, and one pressed garlic clove into a bowl. Stir the ingredients well to create the marinade.
  3. 3. Cut the chicken fillets into narrow strips. Place the meat strips into the marinade. Let the meat marinate in it for a few hours.
  4. 4. Chop the onion finely. Chop the bell pepper finely. Finely chop the second garlic clove. Remove the seeds from the chili and chop it finely.
  5. 5. Take the meat out of the marinade. Let the meat drain briefly. Store the marinade in a separate container.
  6. 6. Season the drained meat with a little salt. Add plenty of sweet paprika powder. Add a little curry powder.
  7. 7. Heat some oil in a large pan. Fry the onions, garlic, and meat in the oil. Fry the meat until it is golden brown.
  8. 8. Add the chopped chili and the bell pepper strips to the pan. Stir everything briefly.
  9. 9. Deglaze the meat with the stored marinade. Add half a can of coconut milk. Add a splash of cream.
  10. 10. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes. Cook the meat in it until it is done.
  11. 11. Season the sauce with spices. Add the remaining cream if desired. Add the remaining coconut milk if desired. Add a little water if the sauce is too thick.
  12. 12. Check the consistency of the sauce. Thicken the sauce with a little cornstarch or flour if it is too runny.
  13. 13. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Cook the desired amount of rice.
  14. 14. Serve the chicken with the sauce together with the rice. Tip: If you are in a hurry, skip the marinating. Add the marinade ingredients directly to the sauce.
