Ingredients
- 500 g minced meat, mixed
- 1 roll (from the previous day)
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 medium-sized onion(s) (finely diced)
- 1 clove(s) of garlic (crushed)
- 150 g feta cheese
- salt and pepper
- paprika powder
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 medium-sized onion(s) (finely diced)
- 1 clove(s) of garlic (crushed)
- 500 g tomatoes, pureed
- 250 ml meat broth
- 2 tsp sugar
- optional salt
- 1 tbsp basil (dried)
- 100 ml sweet cream
- 50 g feta cheese
Instructions
- 1. Place the bread roll in water until it is soft.
- 2. Squeeze the soaked bread roll well.
- 3. Mix the minced meat with the egg.
- 4. Add the finely chopped onion to the meat mixture.
- 5. Add the pressed garlic.
- 6. Fold in the squeezed-out bread roll.
- 7. Season the mixture with salt.
- 8. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 9. Season the mixture with paprika powder.
- 10. Form ten equal-sized balls from the mixture.
- 11. Cut the sheep's cheese into ten small cubes.
- 12. Flatten one meat ball.
- 13. Place a cheese cube in the center of the flattened ball.
- 14. Seal the dough around the cheese.
- 15. Reshape the ball to be round.
- 16. Repeat this with all meatballs.
- 17. Fry the balls on all sides in the pan.
- 18. Place the fried balls into a baking dish.
- 19. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 20. Fry the chopped onion in the cooking fat.
- 21. Fry the pressed garlic in the cooking fat.
- 22. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic.
- 23. Stir in the meat broth while stirring constantly.
- 24. Stir in the pureed tomatoes while stirring constantly.
- 25. Add enough water so that the sauce is not too thin.
- 26. Season the sauce with sugar.
- 27. Season the sauce with salt if necessary.
- 28. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for five minutes.
- 29. Stir the dried basil into the sauce.
- 30. Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs.
- 31. Sprinkle everything with 50 grams of sheep's cheese.
- 32. Place the baking dish on the middle rack in the oven.
- 33. Let the balls simmer in the oven for 20 minutes.
- 34. Remove the dish from the oven.
- 35. Stir the cream into the sauce.
- 36. Put the dish back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
