  3. 3. Press the dough firmly and evenly into the prepared dish.
  4. 4. Spread a thin layer of jam evenly over the dough.
  5. 5. Melt butter, water, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a pot without letting the mixture boil.
  6. 6. Stir ground nuts or almonds into the warm sugar mixture and mix everything well.
  7. 7. Distribute the nut-sugar mixture evenly over the jam layer.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  9. 9. Bake the nut squares for about 30 to 35 minutes on the middle rack.
  10. 10. Let the nut squares cool completely on the sheet, preferably overnight.
  11. 11. Cut the cooled nut squares into the typical corner shape.
  12. 12. Dip the tips or side edges of the nut squares into the chocolate glaze.
