  1. 1. Mix flour, sugar, butter, egg, and baking powder into a smooth dough.
  2. 2. Line the bottom of a 26-centimeter springform pan with baking paper.
  3. 3. Grease the sides of the pan.
  4. 4. Roll out the dough.
  5. 5. Press the dough into the pan and press the edges up by hand.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  7. 7. Stir the quark until creamy.
  8. 8. Gradually add all remaining ingredients.
  9. 9. Mix everything well.
  10. 10. Pour the liquid mixture into the springform pan.
  11. 11. Bake the cake for 70 minutes.
  12. 12. Whip the egg whites with a small pinch of salt until stiff.
  13. 13. Add the sifted powdered sugar.
  14. 14. Continue whipping until the mixture is shiny and firm.
  15. 15. Remove the cake from the oven after 70 minutes.
  16. 16. Spread the egg whites about 1 centimeter thick over the topping.
  17. 17. Bake the cake for another 10 minutes at the same temperature.
