Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 250 g quark
- 1 packet baking powder
- 8 tbsp milk
- 6 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 100 g fried onions
- 200 g cheese, grated
- 100 g ham cubes
Instructions
- 1. Put flour, quark (a type of fresh cheese), baking powder, milk, oil, salt, and sugar into a large bowl.
- 2. Stir the ingredients vigorously until a smooth and pliable dough forms.
- 3. Gently fold the remaining ingredients (like cheese and toppings) into the dough.
- 4. Knead the mixture briefly once more to ensure everything is well combined.
- 5. Shape the dough mixture into small, hand-sized balls.
- 6. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (conventional heat).
- 8. Put the tray into the preheated oven.
- 9. Bake the balls for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
- 10. Watch the color closely while baking, as they can brown quickly depending on your oven.
- 11. Remove the balls as soon as they are nicely crispy but not too dark.
- 12. Let the balls cool down briefly before serving.
