Ingredients
- 240 g flour (2 Cups)
- 480 ml buttermilk (2 Cups)
- 75 g butter ((1/3 Cup), melted)
- 2 egg(s)
- 1 tbsp sugar (maybe 2 tbsp)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- oil (or butter for frying)
- to taste maple syrup (or sugar)
- honey (or jam)
- maybe butter (for butter flakes)
Instructions
- 1. This recipe originally uses US customary units. If you have a measuring cup in "Cups" at home, you will find the quantities listed in that unit as well.
- 2. Crack the eggs. Add the buttermilk and melted butter and stir. Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly. Now slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and stir only until the batter is creamy.
- 3. Heat a frying pan. Add a little oil (such as peanut oil) or butter. Slowly ladle the batter into the pan. You can choose the amount freely, depending on how large you want your pancakes to be.
- 4. Do not shake the pan so that the pancakes remain thick and compact. Bake them over medium heat until bubbles form on the surface and start to pop. The surface should no longer look liquid, otherwise the pancake will lose its shape when flipped.
- 5. Now it is time to flip! Cook for a short while longer until the underside is golden brown. This often happens very quickly, so pay attention.
- 6. Pour maple syrup over the pancakes. You can also use honey, jam, or sugar if you prefer. If you want even more calories, place a few small pieces of butter on top so they melt nicely.
- 7. This is one of many pancake recipes. People who have tried pancakes in America will love these for their fluffy soft texture!
