🍰 Tender Chocolate Cake – a Delicate Treat

Ingredients
- 125 g flour (Type 405)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 180 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 120 g margarine (or butter)
- 100 g dark chocolate (or 50 g dark and 50 g milk chocolate)
- 125 ml water
- 1 tbsp sour cream
- 10 g cocoa powder
- 1 egg(s)
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1. Line a 20-centimeter springform pan with baking paper.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 3. Add water, sour cream, margarine or butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, cocoa, and the chocolate broken into pieces to a pot.
- 4. Warm the mixture over low heat.
- 5. Stir occasionally.
- 6. Remove the pot from the heat when the margarine or butter and the chocolate have completely melted.
- 7. Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl.
- 8. Let the mixture cool down for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- 9. Beat the egg into the mixture on the highest speed setting.
- 10. Mix flour and baking powder.
- 11. Stir the flour mixture into the batter spoonful by spoonful.
- 12. Pour the liquid batter into the springform pan.
- 13. Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat for 40 to 45 minutes.
- 14. Perform the skewer test to check for doneness.
- 15. Remove the cake from the oven.
- 16. Immediately release the cake from the pan.
- 17. Let the cake cool down completely.
- 18. Dust the cake with powdered sugar or cover it with a chocolate glaze.
