  2. 2. Add the milk and warm the mixture to about 37 degrees.
  3. 3. Stir the yeast into the lukewarm milk until it has completely dissolved.
  4. 4. Add sugar, salt, cardamom, and almost all the flour to the bowl.
  5. 5. Knead the dough until it is soft and pliable.
  6. 6. If the dough feels too sticky, add a little more flour.
  7. 7. Cover the dough with a cloth.
  8. 8. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 to 40 minutes.
  9. 9. Knead the dough again on a lightly floured surface.
  10. 10. Divide the dough into three equal parts.
  11. 11. Roll each part into a thin rectangle.
  12. 12. Spread the dough surfaces with soft margarine or butter.
  13. 13. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  14. 14. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the dough.
  15. 15. Roll the dough into a long log.
  16. 16. Cut the log into pieces about 4 cm thick.
  17. 17. Place the pieces cut-side down on a baking sheet.
  18. 18. Let the dough rise again until it has doubled in size in about 30 minutes.
  19. 19. Preheat the oven to 250 to 275 degrees top and bottom heat.
  20. 20. Brush the cinnamon buns with beaten egg.
  21. 21. Then sprinkle the buns with sugar.
  22. 22. Bake the buns on the middle rack in the preheated oven for about 5 to 8 minutes.
  23. 23. Let the finished buns cool under a cloth.
