  1. 1. Season the schnitzels and fry them briefly in some oil.
  2. 2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees with top and bottom heat.
  3. 3. Place the meat in a heatproof dish and spread it with sour cream (use crème fraîche for a creamier texture). Slice the onion into rings and distribute them along with the ham cubes over the meat. Finally, sprinkle everything with some cheese.
  4. 4. Place the dish in the hot oven for about 10 minutes until the cheese has melted.
  5. 5. Oven potatoes (since the oven is already on) or pasta with a cream sauce go well with this.
