  1. 1. Wash the tomatoes and slice them into thick rounds. Sprinkle with salt and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then gently squeeze out the released liquid.
  2. 2. Mix the olive oil with the balsamic vinegar in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. 3. Blend 8 basil leaves together with mayonnaise, garlic, Tabasco, a pinch of salt, and lemon juice until you have a smooth paste.
  4. 4. Slice the ciabatta bread lengthwise and remove some of the inner dough to make room. Spread both halves with the basil mayonnaise and top with lettuce leaves.
  5. 5. Fry the bacon in a pan until crispy, crumble it, and distribute the pieces over the lettuce.
  6. 6. Place the tomato slices and mozzarella on the lettuce. Drizzle the olive oil-balsamic mixture over it. Tear the 2 remaining basil leaves with your fingers and sprinkle them on top. Cover the sandwich with the top half of the bread.
  7. 7. Cut the finished sandwich into portions and serve.
