Ingredients
- 500 g pork goulash
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 0.5 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 large onion(s) (chopped)
- 1 clove(s) of garlic (pressed)
- 1 carrot(s) (grated)
- 200 ml beer (type of your choice)
- 600 ml vegetable broth
- salt and pepper
- 1 tsp paprika powder, sweet
- 1 tbsp crème fraîche
- to taste thickener
Instructions
- 1. Heat the clarified butter in a deep pan. Sear the meat on high heat and season with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
- 2. Once the meat has browned and the water has evaporated, add the chopped onion, pressed garlic clove, grated carrot, mustard, and tomato paste, and sauté briefly.
- 3. Deglaze with beer and let it reduce. Top up with vegetable broth, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour (about 35 minutes if using a pressure cooker).
- 4. About 5 minutes before the end of cooking time, stir in the crème fraîche and thicken with a little sauce thickener if needed. Taste again before serving.
- 5. Serve with spätzle, rice, mashed potatoes, or boiled potatoes.
