  1. 1. Separate the eggs. Carefully lift the yolks away from the whites.
  2. 2. Whip the egg whites until stiff. Gradually add half of the sugar while doing so.
  3. 3. Beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar until creamy.
  4. 4. Fold the mascarpone and lemon zest into the yolk mixture.
  5. 5. Gently fold the yolk mixture into the whipped egg whites.
  6. 6. Place half of the ladyfinger biscuits in a dish.
  7. 7. Soak the biscuits with espresso and liqueur.
  8. 8. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over them.
  9. 9. Smooth out the cream.
  10. 10. Repeat the layers with the remaining biscuits.
  11. 11. Add the rest of the cream.
  12. 12. Chill the tiramisu in the refrigerator for about 4 hours.
  13. 13. Dust it generously with cocoa powder before serving.
  14. 14. Decorate it with fresh berries.
