Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 cube fresh yeast
- 275 ml water
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can tomatoes, chunky (or pureed)
- some oregano (basil, thyme)
- 150 g salami
- 150 g ham
- 1 jar mushrooms (drained)
- 1 packet cheese, grated (approx. 200 g, your choice)
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- 1. Knead the dough ingredients into a smooth dough.
- 2. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
- 3. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
- 4. Sprinkle some flour on the baking paper.
- 5. Roll out the dough parts immediately without resting into round, thin circles.
- 6. Put the tomatoes into a bowl.
- 7. Season the tomatoes with oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- 8. If desired, add onion and garlic powder.
- 9. Spread the tomato mixture evenly over both dough circles.
- 10. Save two tablespoons of the sauce for later.
- 11. Top the dough with salami.
- 12. Add ham.
- 13. Add mushrooms.
- 14. Sprinkle everything with cheese.
- 15. Save some cheese for the surface.
- 16. Fold the calzone together carefully.
- 17. Use the baking paper as a helper.
- 18. Press the edges together firmly.
- 19. Ensure the filling stays inside.
- 20. Brush the top with the reserved tomato mixture.
- 21. Sprinkle the reserved cheese on top.
- 22. Preheat the oven to 250 °C top and bottom heat.
- 23. Bake the calzone for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- 24. Take them out when they are golden brown.
