  2. 2. Wash the pears, peel them, and remove the core. Cut the flesh into thin wedges.
  3. 3. Spend 5 minutes toasting the walnuts in a dry pan over medium heat until fragrant. Let them cool, then break them into rough pieces.
  4. 4. In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. 5. Evenly distribute the pear wedges and the crumbled goat cheese over the salad.
