1. Wash the asparagus thoroughly. Peel only the lower part and cut off the woody ends. Bundle the stalks together and optionally tie them securely with blanched (briefly cooked in boiling water) chive stems.
2. Cook the asparagus in boiling salted water for about 10 to 12 minutes until it is tender-crisp.
3. In the meantime, mix yogurt with lemon juice, cream, salt, and pepper thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a small bowl, adjust the seasoning, and sprinkle with chive rings.
4. Lift the asparagus out of the water, let it drain, and serve it together with the yogurt sauce.
