Ingredients
- 200g Tuna steaks
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Grapefruit
- 1 Lime
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 EL Olive oil
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C. This takes about 3 minutes.
- 2. Pat the tuna fillets dry with paper towels. Never wash them, or the fish will become mushy.
- 3. Season the fillets with half the salt and the pepper. Rub both sides.
- 4. Dice the avocado into small cubes. Remove the pit and peel it first.
- 5. Break the grapefruit into small pieces. Remove the pulp from the membranes.
- 6. Finely chop the onion and the 2 garlic cloves. Don't chop them too small, or the garlic will burn.
- 7. Juice the lime. Mix the juice with the olive oil, the remaining salt, and the remaining pepper.
- 8. Combine the avocado, grapefruit, and onions with the dressing mixture. Serve immediately.
- 9. Place the tuna steaks in the air fryer. Fry them for 4 minutes at 200 °C. Flip them after 2 minutes.
- 10. Fry the second side for another 2 minutes. The fish should still be pink inside.
- 11. Remove the steaks and let them rest for 2 minutes. This keeps the juices in the meat.
- 12. Slice the steaks into thick slices. Serve them with the avocado-citrus salad. The fish is perfect when it’s pink and juicy.
