  1. 1. Cut the tempeh into even, approximately 2 cm cubes.
  2. 2. Pat the cubes dry with paper towel so they get crispy.
  3. 3. Place the tempeh cubes in a bowl and drizzle with 1 tbsp rapeseed oil.
  4. 4. Toss the cubes until they are thinly and evenly coated with oil.
  5. 5. In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp ginger, and 1 tbsp garlic.
  6. 6. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C until the appliance is ready.
  7. 7. Place the tempeh cubes in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch.
  8. 8. Fry the tempeh at 180 °C for 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  9. 9. Shake the basket vigorously to ensure even cooking on all sides.
  10. 10. Fry the tempeh for another 5 minutes, until it is crispy on the outside and firm inside.
  11. 11. Remove the tempeh from the air fryer and place it in the bowl with the sauce.
  12. 12. Gently toss the cubes until they are completely coated with the sauce.
  13. 13. Serve the tempeh immediately on plates to keep it crispy.
  14. 14. The dish is perfect when the tempeh is golden brown and the sauce adheres with a shine.
