Ingredients
- 200g Croissant Dough
- 100g Gruyère
- 1 Egg
- 1 Prise Salt
- 1 Prise Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. This takes about 3 minutes until the appliance is hot.
- 2. Divide the 200 g croissant dough into 4 equal-sized rectangles.
- 3. Grate the 100 g Gruyère cheese finely. This helps it melt evenly and stick better.
- 4. Distribute the grated Gruyère cheese evenly over each of the 4 dough rectangles.
- 5. Fold the dough rectangles diagonally into triangles. This creates the classic shape.
- 6. Moisten the edges with a little water. This helps seal the triangles.
- 7. Press the edges firmly together with your fingers. Avoid gaps so the cheese doesn't leak out.
- 8. Whisk 1 egg with a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper in a small bowl.
- 9. Brush the croissants thinly with the egg mixture. This gives them a golden-brown color.
- 10. Place the croissants in the air fryer basket. Make sure they don't touch.
- 11. Bake the croissants in the air fryer at 180 °C for about 10 minutes, until golden brown and risen.
- 12. Carefully remove the croissants from the air fryer. They are hot and the cheese is very hot.
- 13. Let the croissants rest for about 2 minutes. This allows the cheese to set and won't burn your mouth.
- 14. Serve the croissants warm. They are perfect when the surface is crispy and golden brown.
