1. Dice the red bell pepper into small cubes and put them into a large bowl.
2. Finely chop the onion and add it to the bell pepper.
3. Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and dice the pulp.
4. Gently add the avocado cubes to the bell pepper mixture in the bowl.
5. Mince the garlic clove very finely and add it to the salad.
6. Pour 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 2 tablespoons olive oil over the salad.
7. Season the salad with half of the salt and pepper and gently stir everything together.
8. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C and heat it for 3 minutes.
9. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels – never wash them, or they’ll become mushy.
10. Rub the tuna steaks with the remaining salt and pepper.
11. Place the steaks in the preheated air fryer and cook them for 8 minutes at 180 °C, flipping them halfway through until they are golden brown on the outside.
12. Remove the steaks and let them rest for 3 minutes to redistribute the juices.
13. Slice the tuna steaks into thick slices and arrange them on plates.
14. Serve the avocado-bell pepper salad alongside the fish and serve the dish immediately.
