Ingredients
- 500g Potatoes
- 200ml Heavy Cream
- 100g Gruyère
- 50g Butter
- 2 Zehen Garlic
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Peel the 500 g potatoes completely with a peeler.
- 2. Slice the potatoes into evenly thick, approximately 3 mm thin slices.
- 3. Peel the 2 cloves of garlic and press them through a press.
- 4. Cut the 50 g butter into approximately 8 small cubes.
- 5. Grate the 100 g Gruyère cheese coarsely into a bowl.
- 6. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
- 7. Melt the butter cubes in a small pan over medium heat.
- 8. Sauté the pressed garlic in the butter for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- 9. Pour the 200 ml heavy cream into the pan and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
- 10. Stir the grated Gruyère into the hot cream until it is melted.
- 11. Season the cheese-cream mixture with 1 tsp salt and pepper.
- 12. Arrange the potato slices closely together in the air fryer basket.
- 13. Pour the hot cheese-cream mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- 14. Bake the gratin in the air fryer at 180 °C for about 25 minutes, until the surface is golden brown.
- 15. Let the gratin rest in the basket for 5 minutes so the sauce thickens.
- 16. Serve the gratin directly from the basket; it is ready when it crackles slightly.
