Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Clean the 400 g mushrooms with a damp cloth. Don't wash them under water, or they'll become soggy.
  2. 2. Thoroughly dry the mushrooms with paper towels. Wet mushrooms will steam instead of brown.
  3. 3. Cut off the stems of the mushrooms. Discard the tough stems or save them for soup.
  4. 4. Halve any large mushroom caps. You can leave small mushrooms whole.
  5. 5. Peel 2 cloves of garlic and press them finely through a garlic press. Alternatively, chop them very finely.
  6. 6. Melt 50 g butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Don't let it brown.
  7. 7. Stir the pressed garlic into the melted butter. Smell it: it should smell pleasant.
  8. 8. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. This takes about 3 minutes. Preheating is essential.
  9. 9. Put the mushrooms into the air fryer basket. Spread them in a single layer, don't stack them.
  10. 10. Generously brush the mushrooms with the garlic butter. Use a brush or spoon it over them.
  11. 11. Sprinkle 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper over the mushrooms. Make sure they are evenly distributed.
  12. 12. Cook the mushrooms at 180 °C for 10 minutes, until golden brown. Open the basket and shake them well.
  13. 13. Brush the mushrooms with the remaining butter after turning them. This adds more flavor.
  14. 14. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes. The mushrooms should look golden brown and crispy.
  15. 15. Remove the basket and immediately sprinkle the mushrooms with 2 tbsp chopped parsley.
  16. 16. Serve the mushrooms hot. They are perfect when they are crisp and not mushy.
