  2. 2. Take the ciabatta rolls and slice each one horizontally to open them up like a hinge.
  3. 3. Finely mince the garlic and mix it in a small bowl with the olive oil and red pepper flakes.
  4. 4. Generously brush the cut sides of the rolls with the garlic oil mixture.
  5. 5. Evenly sprinkle the grated Gouda cheese over the rolls.
  6. 6. Place the rolls cheese-side up on a baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes.
  7. 7. Take the sheet out of the oven, sprinkle fresh basil on top, and serve the melt immediately hot.
